“We’re at an inflection point in cybersecurity,” NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang told a sold-out audience at CrowdStrike’s Fal.Con 2026 in Las Vegas on Tuesday. As cyberattacks become increasingly automated, he said, defense must evolve in parallel.
Huang joined CrowdStrike founder and CEO George Kurtz to announce CrowdStrike SafeMind, an agentic cybersecurity system developed by the CrowdStrike Cyber Superintelligence Lab. Calling the launch “the beginning of a new age of cybersecurity,” Huang told the 10,000 security professionals in attendance that both attackers and defenders will be more capable than ever.

CrowdStrike created SafeMind by fine-tuning Nvidia’s open-source Nemotron models with proprietary threat intelligence and cybersecurity data, while Nvidia tested the system internally and provided feedback to help improve it.

Jensen Huang said CrowdStrike’s 15 years of cybersecurity data could transform a frontier AI model into a highly capable system specialized in security. George Kurtz described SafeMind as cybersecurity’s first fully agentic platform, featuring frontier models and a defender-focused framework developed by CrowdStrike with Nvidia not merely a copilot or chatbot layered onto another system. Nvidia’s Nemotron 3 Ultra coordinates the defensive agent framework, while a fine-tuned Nemotron 3 Super powers SafeMind’s rule-generation subagent.
When AI Becomes the First Line of Cyber Defense
AI-enabled attacks rose 89% over the past year, while the fastest eCrime breakout time has fallen to just 27 seconds, according to CrowdStrike. At that speed, a human response is no longer defense it is merely documentation. “There are many applications in the world where you must have the ability to fine-tune, to post-train to create an AI that is super good at a particular domain,” Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said. “Nemotron was created for precisely that. Completely free. Incredibly fast. You have the ability to have an asymmetric advantage against whatever comes your way.”
Using open Nemotron models as the foundation, CrowdStrike’s security teams post-trained the system on their own threat intelligence without sharing the data with an external provider. They were able to tailor the AI specifically to their environment—an option unavailable with closed frontier models. In cybersecurity, being able to inspect and understand the system doing the defending is itself a critical advantage.
