Mercer International, Inc. engages in the provision of renewable bio-based products. The company is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia and currently employs 3,545 full-time employees. The Pulp segment consists of the manufacture, sale and distribution of pulp, electricity and chemicals at its pulp mills. Its four pulp mills are aggregated into the Pulp segment. The Solid Wood segment consists of the manufacture, sale and distribution of lumber, manufactured products (including cross-laminated timber, glulam and finger joint lumber), wood pallets, electricity, biofuels and wood residuals at its sawmills and other facilities in Germany and its mass timber facilities in North America. The Friesau sawmill, the Torgau facility and the mass timber facilities are aggregated into the solid wood segment. The company has a consolidated annual production capacity of over 2.1 million tons of pulp, 960 million board feet of lumber, 210 thousand cubic meters of cross-laminated timber, 45,000 cubic meters of glulam, 17 million pallets and 230,000 metric tons of biofuels.
