Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. engages in the manufacture of sugar. The firm operates through three segments: Sugar, Cogeneration of power (Cogen) and Distillery. The firm has two sugar factories having a capacity to crush 6400 tons of cane per day, generate 33 megawatts (MW) of power and a distillery having a capacity of 60 kiloliters per day (KLPD). In addition to sugar manufacturing, it also has facility for co-generation of power, production of industrial alcohol from molasses and bio-compost from press mud and distillery effluents. The distillery unit is equipped to produce anhydrous alcohol, extra neutral alcohol, and rectified spirit. The company also produces polyisobutylene, which is s chemically inert, hydrophobic, and impermeable to water vapor or gas. The firm has two manufacturing units in Tamil Nadu, which include the Kattur unit and the Sathamangalam unit.
